Hypnotherapy  is a reliable and safe therapeutic technique which is centuries old and is recognised by many branches of orthodox medicine as a valuable alternative to drugs, to accelerate healing, and to help combat pain. There are many fears and misunderstandings about the use of hypnosis and hypnotherapy, and the myths and mystery that surround it are totally undeserved.

Hypnosis, is a totally natural phenomenon.  It is simply a very comfortable and relaxed state during which it is quite easy to converse sensibly with the therapist.  Almost anyone can enter the hypnotic state easily. Interestingly, most people are hypnotised regularly in everyday life without realising it.

Hypnosis, in a therapeutic setting, is usually induced by the use of the therapist’s voice, though you are unlikely to actually feel “hypnotised”.Many people find their senses to be far more alert than usual – you will certainly not ‘lose control’ at any time.

And, contrary to popular belief, you cannot be made to do anything you don't want to do. You will be fully aware of what is being said to you.

Myths of Hypnosis

  • I will lose control - This is not true. You will be fully aware of everything going on around you, and will still be able to speak and move if you want to.

  • I will be made to do things I don't want to do – If this were true people wouldn't need guns to rob banks! You will only change areas that you want or need to change.

  • I won't remember anything that is said in the session – Most people are fully aware of what is being said during the session and can also remember afterwards.

  • Hypnosis is scary – Hypnosis is one of the most relaxed states to be in. If you don't feel more relaxed after one hypnosis session I will give you your money back.
